Dusk and Dawn Birding Adventure
The State of Oaxaca includes habitats that support approximately 700 bird species. And from the Central Valley region of Oaxaca we have access to half of them. The state of Oaxaca is very mountainous including both the Pacific and Atlantic coastal slopes.
Within a one hour drive north of the city of Oaxaca we enter the humid, pine-oak highlands of La Cumbre (Cerro San Felipe) where there is access to 99 bird species including the endemic Dwarf Jay as well as the Garnet-throated and Bumblebee Hummingbirds are often seen.
Your experience with Go Well Tours will begin with a short drive to La Cumbre (Cerro San Felipe), and after settling in and a light lunch, spend an afternoon and early evening watching birds in the area with your Canadian-English speaking host.
Then relax and recount our successes over a glass of wine or coffee while dinner is prepared. Weather permitting this will be done over an open fire.
After a restful sleep in the cozy eco-cabins, get up at the crack of dawn and be greeted with a hot cup of coffee and a light snack. This morning we explore another habitat for a couple of hours of bird watching. This will be followed by a freshly prepared late-breakfast in the bush.
The Go Well Dusk and Dawn Birding Adventure in the Sierra Norte will be one to remember for a long time to come.
